Moses and Jesus....

No matter what, do not forget that Jesus is half-Mary (half  human). He may have sensed Joseph's bewilderment, surprise and possible reluctance to embrace him fully since He was conceived immaculately. He may have lived in the presence of those who kept looking at his nose and eyes; the presence of doubt by those who wished to doubt as they tried to determine if he was really related. Jesus describes family as He understood it in Mark 3.  The Holy spirit is thicker than blood and water as Jesus is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. All the same, Joseph had a duty and exercised it in faith as he was guided and believed.  Jesus must have read Psalms 27:10 before he was 15 years old. It would have been a part of his schooling and training for service.  Jesus, too had to apply faith and believe the story of Moses and the red sea or the story of Jonah.  There is no difference between Joseph in Potiphar's house and Jesus in the wilderness or with the woman at the well. They both applied the word of God.  There is no difference between Moses and Jesus except that  Moses parted the red sea and walked through the water while Jesus walked on it.  The greatest evidence of their faith in that which was greater than themselves was their puritanical and celtic belief in preserving community based on a simple set of rules; a belief in a community administered by the word of God and the ten commandments.
