In World War II

In World War II, the Allied powers developed push button recorders for the uniforms of senior staff but the machines were as heavy as a small air conditioner and caused back problems so they had to continue to rely on short hand  as means of recording short or long and drawn discussions. With the weight issue removed and memory increased for such devices in small mp3 sizes, push button recorders are becoming standard issue on the uniforms of most first responders.  You can also opt for the voice activated models to aid recollection but then you might be recording every conversation with the burger girl. It would fit right into an empty pocket on an existing uniform. The button for recording would be sufficient and quite difficult to activate in error. It would be a USb(mini) device. It would also have five day charge and recording time capacity with normal use.
