It is rumored that the slave trade, albeit unnecessary in terms of cost to achieve the working goal since indentured servants came willingly for a new opportunity and not by purchase, was to bridge a technological gap witnessed by French and Eastern European industrialists who had already sent explorers successfully to the Americas, Africa and the entire globe to notice that peace  and good weather was the father of leisure and satisfaction while cold and language barriers is the mother of war and inventiveness.
