He had to hide and could be, as it appears, Joseph of Arimathea.

So, they tried to kill Jesus when He was young. King Herod did. They also tried to kill Him  for His calm and peaceful belief in Psalms 82 and the law and the prophets. He may have told them to ask King David if they did not understand as some were preaching and teaching for attention and not for service and submission to the Lord with no sense of self. They would say that they still struggled to understand even though Yeshua would encourage them to read the scriptures for themselves. He said "...it is written."  All the same, it was less dangerous if He did not identify His father in those polemic times since it would have identified Yeshua  as a boy who may have survived Herod's evil edict shortly after Christmas day to kill all children two years old or younger.  That is why it is best not call any man your father on this earth while you acknowledge your Heavenly father since the Sanhedrin at Jesus'  birth was supportive of Herod's edicts evidently. Yeshua fled to Egypt and met some cousins related to Ephraim and Manasseh who recognised Yeshua,  Mary and Joseph upon their obedient arrival for peace.  Many also fled to Egypt after the first Assyrian occupation.  They were his ancestral country men.  His father's name was Joseph. He had to hide and could be, as it appears, Joseph of Arimathea.
