God was not selfish when He made you. In picking up your cross, denying yourself and following Him, you are giving back what He gave to the world and you have not separated yourself with any independent existence or purpose as you choose to make yourself a part of Him; the way, truth and the life. Your potential for ego is subsumed in your identity with Christ. This does not mean that you will not make creative salads, paintings, cartoon characters or vehicles. But, you are a joint heir in Christ. He lives through you as you allow Him. There are seven billion people on the planet. 700 billion have already come and left. You may be more creative and more directed with your ego out of the way. Now that it is out of the way, there is no one to compete with. You could also say there is no one with whom to compete as your duty and job as a joint heir is service. See Mark 4. You live for purpose and you can follow the statutes(rules) on vehicle design. Who knows what you might come up with and who should be upset. It's like chess and the rules of a game. If you play chess, you play chess. If you don't, you don't. If your father is the owner of the company, who can argue? Chess is about rules and you will get your result based on rules including rules of the Knight's movement or that of the other beautiful pieces.
