So, you killed lady bugs as a boy when you were asked by your father.  He was very guilty after he killed some bug.  You took on an experience; maybe a guilt when you killed some.   But, you also took on the condemnation of the devil.  Mind you, not everyone has a tender conscience towards such things as lady bugs. They are an expression of God's creation. But, the tender conscience is a gift of God.  You feel a loss of association or authority. But, many people know your experience. They said it was a right of passage. You did not want to do it. But, the issue is not your guilt in killing the bug. The issue is the loss of authority in not acknowledging your conscience, confessing it as wrong and then accepting forgiveness for it. You are now 54 and you want your son to do the same lady bug killing so that he can know your experience in feeling that loss of authority.  You told him to do it so that he would be equal.
