New research confirms what was previously understood about King Herod mentioned in the story of Christ's birth. He was a Roman citizen. Apparently, he was born to a woman outside of Israel evidently but traveled to the Holy lands with his family and raised in a country that borders Israel and spent time among some Samaritans who promoted their authority as descendants of Jacob. They were hugely good people; huge. He was also a Jewish convert and may have spent some time in Syria; a country with significant world heritage sites that have significant archeological value; significant! He was spiritually disposed to resenting the Christ when Christ was an infant. They planned to make him a deaf mute and to cut off his infant testes to secure their position but Christ's mother and father loved their child as their own flesh and escaped from Herod's obsession with the young boy with respect to who the child is in prophecy. You can tell who is a descendant of Herod or a Herodian. One of Herod's descendants fled to Rome after Christ's death. He settled and sought to be an assistant to the emperor. He advised him of the Christians and their love and passion for the Jewish law, that they were a threat and had to be crushed. Nero followed this advice. He burned down part of Rome, accused the Christians and then killed them. Herodians can be identified emotionally in the modern era in that they love watching and do watch dismemberment of animals and human beings, physical scenes of nakedness and any movies or exerpts with multiple scenes of graphic nudity more than once a month. They view children as a threat to their attainment in life and as competition; not as lineage or to be preserved as the grand children of the father or mother they claim to honor. Herod was hired as a King. Yeshua was a Messiah. The Christian songs call him a King. But, no one calls themselves a descendant of Herod quite openly. The Herodian today could be a Wesleyan, Catholic or from some other Christian denomination with all the excuses in the world as to why they are killing someone and using their intellectual property. Most Christians are trying to have a simple life with a wife and children. Who wants to forestall that in anyone's life unless you are evil incarnate?
