A number of Actinopterygiian fish have been given the common name whiting.

Gadiformes (cod-like)

The fish originally known by the name "whiting" in English is Merlangius merlangus, in the family Gadidae. This species inhabits the eastern Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the North Sea on the East Coast of Britain. In the USA, it is commonly known as the English whiting.^[1]
In Canada, it is used for the Alaska pollock, Theragra chalcogramma.

I have had many lecturers and many teachers. My father is not identifiable as one of my teachers in school and nor is he one of my lecturers in university who provided tutelage. However, he drove me to piano lessons to receive the tutelage of Myrtle Lou during Public school and High School, picked me up from track practice and also attended various soccer games and practices. I know these facts quite well evidently and I do not require anyone to communicate this obvious fact to me directly or indirectly. I have shared and expressed many thanks. I am quite thankful all the same certainly and have always maintained a sense of reverence for the diligent efforts of my teachers and lecturers. You do not need to tell me that you are not my father. I know who paid for the piano school books, who bought the piano and who paid the club fees for soccer.

I am certainly not interested in politics or in being a Bishop and you must know this. I have signed accordingly right here. Didn't I tell you after I obtained a B+ in politics at Huron College?
