There is a story of Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah. No one should dare to add to that precious story and the many lessons learned from it. Abraham prayed to save the city so that Lot's life would be spared as there was a vision of the city's destruction. An alternative solution from our modern era comes to mind. The issue was the safety of Lot, his wife and children in the presence of people who lusted after their sense of purity or their flesh if nothing more. It sounds like a Zombie tale. Instead of escape, what if Lot called upon a body great enough to take the city and inhabitants and put them under a law-abiding governance that would enforce laws to keep citizens and their homes safe from such mindless and lust-driven hordes? The laws may have resembled the ten commandments with the only purpose being to ensure communal living and the governor of that land would have looked like Moses. His enforcers would have had the authority and mindset of a Caleb and Joshua. They would not have molested the citizenry and would have taken their roles to keep all the citizens including Lot and his family safe from any invasion or abuse. Everyone knows Lot fled ultimately and escaped the destruction that followed. There was no alternative.
