As already discussed, this website is a celebration and a prayer for civilization that, in the most immediate sense, represents a multiplicity of intersecting beliefs, cultures and understandings of what civilization constitutes.  Londinium historically represents that successful intersection in history at a time when race was not a concept but human diversity was evident. Content of character was the only issue as reflected in the white of the trader's eye on the bank of the Thames.  People from all over the world traded at Londinium. These people included Africans. We know about the Grimaldi man.  We know the world, in spite of its current technological pinnacle, could never be more guilty for its tolerance of racial ignorance.
