Biblical Occupation: Did you ever visit one congregation that said everybody sins sometimes although you should pluck out your eye if it offends you and avoid offending the word of God and then you attended another congregation that seems to be misunderstood as suggesting that you should have a sin when they are only saying that everybody sins sometimes and that you should have a habit of confession? Well, at least both congregations finally understand each other and both congregations can stop claiming spiritual superiority. They can also understand the origins of the notion of having a sin. King David wrote Psalms 51 after committing adultery with Bathsheba and killing Uriah. But, some of his assistants and the people looked at him as if they needed something more than Psalms 51. So, to stay in a position of emotional superiority for their benefit, he would tell anyone who looked at him as if they needed additional leadership and communicated the following with a wink but not audibly; "understand...have a sin but you will see the consequence as you brush against the rose's thorns." But, the people who understood his authority never looked at him doubtfully and remained reverent while understanding that everybody sins. That was the purpose of Psalms 51. It also appears in the law and the prophets. Now, you understand a rosary beside the cross since the lattices and windows in Medieval Europe could be quite revealing if left open and uncovered mistakenly on a hot summer's day and then we will understand the truth of the word of God as David looked through a window. We also understand the power of His forgiveness and the power of confession in the weakness of our humanity next to the power of His promise that sin will not have dominion over us only when we confess to walking in the faith of Abraham.
