You may have some argument in yourself about rejection since you never lived with your father or knew him so when someone tells you, you could loose connection with God or your salvation, you want to give up on the relationship with God even before you really digested it but you like how it feels and the church people around you feel like how you feel and want the good things in relationships and life that you want. But, even your own physical father, if you grew with him, would have had rules in his house and you might have had to wash dishes when he says or cut the grass in addition to going to school.
