Can a Priest have more authority than a Messianic Rabbi for being celibate ? Rabbis, Messianic or Orthodox, are not celibate. They have families and children. See Matthew 5 and Matthew 19. You may not have seen Christ's family or wife in the scripture but in those polemic times, it seems a family would have been a security concern during His ministry.   Remember His life was in danger from the time of birth although Zacharias and Elizabeth were a priestly family and close to His mother Mary. In either case, having a family or being celibate is a choice and does not prevent you from serving God as one believing in Christ as a Priest or Messianic Rabbi.   The virgin Mary spent most  of her time in ministry as a mother and spouse.
